Proctor Senior Josh Martinez Signs National Letter of Intent to Play Baseball at Division One Stetson University

From Utica Little League to Division I baseball! Congratulations to Proctor senior Josh Martinez on signing his National Letter of Intent to play in Florida at Stetson University. As a four-year varsity standout, Martinez has excelled as a shortstop, right-handed pitcher and switch-hitter. Martinez has contributed to two no-hitters in 2025. He also earned regional honors, including Prime Performer for a no-hitter against Oneida in 2024. Martinez ranked second in the 2025 Top K Award for Section III Baseball (Class AAA), was named a 2025 CNY Sports All-Star and finished the season with a 2.77 ERA. Offensively, he ranks among Section III’s best in stolen bases, runs and RBIs. He’s also recognized as one of New York State’s Top 40 players and has been featured in Perfect Game’s Northeast Top Prospect listings. Martinez is a three-sport athlete in baseball, football and basketball.
